Henley Africa has implemented a monthly “Africa Success Story” event where students and alumni are invited to a presentation on “Doing business in Africa and success stories”. Speakers are experts in doing business across Africa.
The consensus is that Africa is open for business and that significant business opportunities exist. Companies that are not currently reviewing the possibility of expanding into Africa could miss these opportunities.
Another point emphasised is that cutting and pasting a business across countries will lead to failure. Regulatory requirements differ from country to country. The business model needs to accommodate individual countries. However, although there are challenges in doing business in Africa, the long-term benefits can be enormous. Africa is rising and the continent is offering significant opportunities.
