In the latest Financial Mail MBA rankings survey, Henley Business School Africa was rated one of four business school in South Africa that graduates would choose if cost were not an issue.

The survey confirmed that employers view Henley as one of the top five business schools in South Africa, and out of nine personal preference criteria for MBA graduates who rated their own school, Henley Africa was in the top three in six categories: namely Strategy, Leadership, Operations, Finance, Marketing and People Management.

The 2017 MBA rankings show that Henley Africa had the third highest number of MBA student registrations. It is in the top six schools that employers consider as having the best overall reputation.

Jon Foster-Pedley, Dean of Henley Africa said staff and management are ecstatic with the results of the survey. “Our hard work as a team is beginning to show good results and we will continue with this in achieving even greater results. Our students, who are 70% black and 42% women, are internationally assessed by the same examiners as are our UK, Asian and European students, and are passing at the same level, if not better, with higher marks than their international peers.”

“Henley is one of only 1% of business schools in the world, and one of four in Africa, that holds international triple accreditation from the AACSB (USA), AMBA (UK) and EQUIS (EU). This means that our students have qualified with an MBA is recognised and respected worldwide,” he said.

“Henley Africa, based in Johannesburg, has grown 700% over the past six years, during which time the MBA intake has tripled and moved from one intake to five per annum. Henley has also launched a successful PGDip as a feeder to the MBA programme.”

Adri Drotskie, MBA director at Henley Africa said: “To date over 1250 students from Henley Africa have graduated with an MBA and we now have 65% of Henley’s global MBA students at this campus. Worldwide, Henley has produced over 80 000 alumni in over 150 countries.”

Henley UK recently celebrated its 70th anniversary and 25th year in South Africa. “Over the years, Henley has been the pioneer of a number of management education initiatives, including the concept of syndicate learning. The quality of learning is enhanced through a diverse group of students working openly and intensely together, sharing their varied experiences and cultural differences.”

“Over the past 20 years Henley has opened 19 research centres and knowledge hubs worldwide that respond to the specialist needs of international businesses, organisations and governments,” said Prof Foster-Pedley.

“In South Africa, we will continue to stand out as a leading international business school in Africa with a strong focus on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship strengthened by the recent launch of our Henley ICE Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship division,” he said.
